Commercialisation Australia

Administered by: Commonwealth Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research

Commercialisation Australia is an Australian Government initiative which can help Australian exporters to convert ideas into successful commercial ventures.

The support provided by Commercialisation Australia is designed to help successful applicants through the commercialisation process to the stage where a new product, process or service can be taken to market. Assistance is tailored to the needs of each successful applicant and is structured around the key stages in the commercialisation pathway.

The program offers:

  • skills and knowledge support to help build the skills, knowledge and connections required to commercialise new ideas. This includes financial support to pay for specialist advice and services (such as market research and analysis, business planning and intellectual property management) and to engage an experienced chief executive officer or other executive for up to two years
  • proof of concept grants to test the commercial viability of a new product, process or service
  • early-stage commercialisation repayable grants to develop a new product, process or service to the stage where it can be taken to market.
