Associate Director, Project & Structured Finance

About you

• Degree qualified in business, finance, accounting, business administration, law and/or relevant technical disciplines. 
• 3 or more years at Associate Director level or equivalent, with strong experience in executing midmarket to larger sized corporate transactions.    
• Strong written communication skills and experience in the preparation of credit proposals and in the execution of transactions including experience in dealing with legal documentation. 
• Strong credit analysis skills including thorough knowledge with respect to balance sheet, P & L and cashflow analysis, preferably with financial modelling skills.    
• Solid debt financing experience across a wide range of market segments: from institutional corporate clients through to business banking. There is also a preference for candidates with project and structured financing experience.  
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge and manage relationships with external clients, alliance partners, consultants, and internal stakeholders.  
• Ability to work effectively in small, highly intra-dependent team within a broader Business Development team environment. 
• Ability to undertake some regional and interstate travel.  
• Collaborative, positive, 'can do' mindset, able to drive creative solutions, and is outcomes-focussed.  
• Experience in negotiating loan documentation and familiarity with complex financing agreements.  
• Superior stakeholder influencing and management skills, with the ability to deal effectively with clients, investors and financiers, key government contacts, consultants and colleagues. ▪ Have a continuous improvement mindset so as to improve internal processes and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Directors to build, develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with investors, financiers, advisors, project proponents and multi-lateral and government agencies.  
• Undertake the structuring and completion of transactions by providing analytical support and advice.   
• Undertake required due diligence (financial, credit, legal etc) to be able to complete internal credit submissions.  
• Engage with Credit, E&S, Portfolio Management, Legal, External Relations and other internal departments during the documentation and execution phase of transactions to ensure completion and a smooth transfer of responsibility.  
• Complete EFA’s origination, execution and industry relationship activities for project and structured finance transactions.  
• Increase the market’s understanding of EFA and the financing solutions it can provide. 
• Develop strategies for business development, sector development and product development within the allocated sector.  
• Role model and demonstrate EFA’s expected behaviours by acting as an EFA ambassador. 
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to more junior members of the PSF team to increase engagement, facilitate learning and improve overall performance.
