Our multi-stakeholder forums

Our multi-stakeholder forums facilitate open communication between Export Finance Australia and civil society organisations (CSOs) about the environmental and social aspects of our transactions.

At regular forums, we discuss matters including:

  • specific transactions (subject to our confidentiality obligations)
  • the general implementation of our Policy and Procedure for the environmental and social review of transactions
  • standards of environmental and social best practice
  • broader corporate social responsibility trends, initiatives and debates.

The forums are held under the ‘Chatham House Rule’ which states: “Participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.”

How it works

Forums are generally held once or twice a year, or as decided between the forum members. They are usually held at our Sydney office. An Export Finance Australia representative chairs the meeting. Outcomes of each forum are published below.

We welcome a range of participants, including customers, civil society organisations, government departments, business representatives and academics. If your organisation would like to participate, contact our Chief Credit Officer by emailing environment@exportfinance.gov.au.
