About the role
We have a 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Manager, Transaction Management, SME to focus on the execution of transactions for a portfolio of small to medium sized (SME) businesses.
This is a credit focused role that involves undertaking due diligence (including financial, credit and legal analysis) and the completion of internal credit submissions.
Writing high quality credit proposals in partnership with Portfolio Management, Legal and other key departments is of primary importance, and key to the role’s success.
You will gain exposure across a range of Export Finance Australia’s finance products and work on diverse and interesting deal types.
Skills and experience
Reporting to the Head of Transaction Management, SME, your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
Contribute to business growth
- Support the efficient execution of transactions and the provision of advice to the Business Development Team in a timely and accurate manner
- Undertake analysis of transactions, preparation of credit application and preparation of facility documentation
Prudent underwriting and documentation
- Ensure transaction assessment is in compliance with credit policy and procedures and other obligations in line with the Efic Act compliance.
- Coordinate the transaction due diligence process and manage the inputs of all relevant stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner.
- Work with the Origination SME team to manage relationships with clients, banks and other alliance partners, developed through the negotiation and execution of transactions.
- Manage relationships and communication with key internal stakeholders including the Business Development team, Credit, Legal and Portfolio Management.
We are looking for a banker with a strong understanding (3 years) of financial services experience, predominantly with credit writing exposure to small and mid-market (SME) transactions. You will be outcomes driven and highly motivated and focused on providing solutions in an efficient and effective manner.
You will also bring a combination of the following skills, qualities, and experience to our team:
Degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting and/or relevant technical disciplines.
Credit analysis skills including a strong understanding of balance sheet, P&L and cashflow statements.
Exposure to and understanding of standard loan documentation processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good experience in the preparation of credit proposals and in the execution of transactions.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge and manage successful relationships with external clients, banks, alliance partners, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a small, inter-dependent team within the broader Export Finance Australia team environment.
Self-motivated and ability to drive a deal to signing close in an appropriate time frame.
