GCO Electrical is a Geraldton-based electrical contractor that specialises in industrial contracting, electrical infrastructure, ongoing maintenance services and labour hire.
GCo needed to provide warranty bonds for its contract with Karara Mining, which will produce magnetite iron ore for export.
GCo’s contract with Karara relates to the electrical control systems and power supplies, including high voltage power, for the entire Karara Mining berth facility.
GCo’s bank, ANZ, wanted to help but was unable to due to a security shortfall and so it contacted us.
We provided warranty bonds to cover GCo’s warranty obligations for the Karara project.
“If you are a company like GCo, which is working in the supply chain fora project where the final goods are exported, then we may be able to supplement your bank’s capacity for bank guarantees or working capital to help your company win and fulfil contracts,” said Export Finance Australia’s Leela Hanson.
