Export Finance Australia (EFA) and Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank) have expanded their strong bilateral relationship today by signing an updated reinsurance agreement.

The reinsurance agreement reflects the commitment of EFA and EXIM Bank to working together in sectors such as climate and energy security, Indo-Pacific infrastructure, critical minerals and other sectors of strategic importance.

Managing Director & CEO of Export Finance Australia John Hopkins and President and Chair of the EXIM Bank Board of Directors, Reta Jo Lewis, signed the agreement while participating at the Berne Union Spring Meeting in Brussels.

“EFA and EXIM Bank have a close working relationship that reflects that of the broader close Australia and United States bilateral relationship,” Mr Hopkins said.

“This updated agreement will open up new opportunities for EFA and EXIM Bank to support our respective exporters, including through encouraging partnership between Australian and US businesses.”

“We are thrilled to enter into a new co-financing agreement with EFA,” said EXIM Bank President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis.

“This agreement highlights the strong cooperation between the United States and Australia to tackle shared economic, climate, and geopolitical challenges. We are eager to play a role in expanding export opportunities for U.S. and Australian businesses.”
