The Associate Director, Workforce Capability and Organisational Development (OD) role is responsible for designing, delivering and embedding capability and performance strategies, frameworks and activities, working in partnership with HR colleagues and senior leaders to support business and people objectives.

This hands-on and broad ranging role requires flexibility to provide end-to-end capability development services for the business – from creating strategy and consulting with business leaders, to designing, developing and delivering solutions. 

This role will also play an important role in delivering the OD agenda, responsible for the execution of key initiatives such as engagement surveys, career frameworks, leadership development and culture programs.
Another key accountability is managing the agile performance framework, ensuring quarterly conversations create clarity, facilitate a strengths-based approach, whilst supporting employees and people leaders in the delivery of the operational priorities.

About you

  • Develop and evolve the organisation’s Workforce Capability strategy. Work closely with leaders and teams in the discovery process, to develop strategic capability roadmaps across all business units.
  • Develop, implement and facilitate a broad range of internal learning solutions. These will range from performance support to formal workshops or webinars.
  • Co-design learning solutions with external vendors and manage vendor relationship.
  • Manage the centralised L&D budget, making recommendations to Head of Organisational Development for best use of resources.
  • Support the Head of Organisational Development in implementing and embedding Organisational Development initiatives such as engagement studies, leadership development programs and career frameworks.
  • Support the organisation’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) agenda, by shaping and delivering learning strategies and solutions to enable the various D&I pillars.
  • Drive the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s performance management approach
  • Create analytics and insights reports/dashboards to support leaders in actively managing both team and individual performance.
  • Manage the reporting and administration related to learning and performance, including records management, annual and bi-monthly reporting.
  • Support the HR Team with projects and initiatives as required, including developing communications, contributing to strategy, change management etc.
  • Support the GM HR and Head of OD to prepare Executive briefings and board reports on a range of topics, including data analysis, making recommendations and writing reports and/or presentations. 

Experience & Skills

  • 8 years’ experience in Capability or Learning & Development roles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, HR or related field.  Certificate IV Training and Assessment would be well regarded.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong consultation and instructional design skills, able to manage an end-to-end process.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills, able to drive robust conversations with employees and senior leaders. Able to foster an engaging learning environment, linked to defined learning outcomes which add value to the learner and the organisation.
  • Manage projects from inception to execution within targeted timeframes.
  • Digitally literate, with experience in managing and implementing HR technology platforms.
  • Strong writing and visual design skills with the ability to develop internal communications and prepare a variety of documents including program content, Executive briefing papers and Board documents.
  • ‘Hands on’ and pragmatic, with a willingness to work as part of a small team to get the job done.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated high level of competence with MS Office suite of programs.
